finished feature story

One day I was sitting at my computer doing homework while looking up bands on the center of music now, Myspace. I had found this amazing band called Never Shout Never!. While listening to this rad band I looked through their music profile and found out the band was run by one guy who didn’t even have a record deal. I was so impressed but how many plays he had gotten on his music and wondered how he was getting that many hits without a record deal.
Myspace is really spreading the word about amazing bands. One of my favorite bands Children 18:3 was found on Myspace and signed to a record deal because of their circulation. Never Shout Never! has appeared on MTV and their music video is being played on MTV’s music countdowns. He said “If it weren’t for Myspace and my amazing fans I would not have made it this far.” The only reason he made it to the video countdown was because of the overwhelming amount of votes he got on the online contest. The people who voted for him were the fans who have found him on Myspace.
Christofer never expected to get this popular. During high school he recorded his own music on the side and put it up but he never thought people would really listen to it. He said he was kind of a loner in high school, which is very surprising when you meet him; he’s a very lovable and outgoing kid. Since he felt like he didn’t fit in he decided to quit school to pursue his music.
One day when I was sitting in my photography class telling my friends about Never Shout Never! A girl in my class, Sara Hurt, yelled that she loves them. I was extremely surprised; I didn’t think anyone would have heard of them. She heard of them through Myspace. She likes that not that many people know about them, she kind of likes obscure bands. That’s what I like most about Never Shout Never!.
I never listen to the popular bands; it makes the music seem more real when they aren’t in the public eye. Myspace helps a lot with that. I can easily find obscure bands through Myspace. If you like one band all you have to do it look at their friends where there are usually bands that have a similar sound to them. The recent growth of music is because of sites like Myspace that let simple garage bands get discovered.
